ZM6380 DCU

Data Concentrator Unit (DCU)

The ZM6380 Data Concentrator Unit (DCU) is a microprocessor-based Data Concentrator Unit (DCU) designed especially for remote data reading of clusters of electric meters. This DCU incorporates an MCU running on Linux platform to provide multiple communication interface options such as LAN, LTE 4G, NBIoT, WCDMA 3G, HSPDA, GPRS,  LoRa, Short Range RF, RS232 and RS485 serial connectivity in order to ensure two-way meter data communication in a reliable, efficient, and cost-saving manner. A variety of protocol sets are also available to support different meter standards adopted by various manufacturers.
When set in DCU mode, the device will periodically poll readings from a cluster of meters, compress and encrypt the data before saving them to local storage and simultaneously as backup to an SD card. Upon request, the packed and compressed data files will be efficiently transmitted to a central server.
This DCU can double as a Modbus converter for energy conservation purpose in Building Management System (BMS). When in Modbus mode, the ZM6380 will serve as a bridge between BMS’ Modbus protocol and the IEC meter standard used in the electricity sector, enabling active remote monitoring of energy usage in various locations within a commercial/industrial facility. Data collected through the Modbus converter are analysed for energy efficiency measures. The overall risk and maintenance costs are thus kept in check. Should there be a surge in loading demand, the system will identify the source of issue and tailor a solution to pre-empt the facility from being charged the maximum tariff rate. A power supply PS1700 is designed to install in A1700 meter for 5V supply to ZM2380G4 MIU.

Meter Interface Unit (MIU)

There are three models of MIU – ZM2380G4, ZM2311G4 and ZM2300G4.
ZM2380G4 is designed to go into an Elster A1700 energy meter. It is an industrial grade LTE-4G/UMTS-3G mobile data communication modem. This modem facilitates the polling and transfer of data from a cluster of meters on one hand and the execution of commands from the central site on the other — the processes of which are fully transparent to the meter protocol.  The two-way communication is carried out via the LTE-4G data network or UMTS-3G data network. ZM2311G4 is designed to embed in Honeywell A1160 energy meter. It is an industrial grade LTE-4G/UMTS-3G mobile data communication modem. This modem facilitates the polling and transfer of data from a cluster of meters on one hand and the execution of commands from the central site on the other — the processes of which are fully transparent to the meter protocol.  The two-way communication is carried out via the LTE-4G data network or UMTS-3G data network. ZM2300G4 is designed to go into an Elster AS230, AS3000 and AS3500 programmable energy meter. It is an industrial grade LTE-4G/UMTS-3G mobile data communication modem. This modem facilitates the polling and transfer of data from a cluster of meters on one hand and the execution of commands from the central site on the other — the processes of which are fully transparent to the meter protocol.  The two-way communication is carried out via the LTE-4G data network or UMTS-3G data network. RS485 interface is provided to connect other meters via RS485 bus. It allows central server to collect readings of a number of meters connected by RS485 with one master meter equipped with LTE modem. ZM6300 AMR System Solution

AMR System Solution for Electricity

The ZM6300 is a low cost AMR/energy monitoring system to collect the real time data of energy consumption for users to do the planning on power plant development, energy savings, etc. The system contains a number of Single phase and 3-phase industrial energy meters, a data concentrator (DCU) and a PC or a server connected via broadband, or mobile data network. There are data presentation software and data analysing software in the Server to present the data graphically and analyze the data to predict the future energy consumption. ZM3300 AMR System for Water Supply

AMR System Solution for Water Supply

ZM3300 is a low cost high efficient IoT network for M-Bus water Metering. The system consists of LoRa MIU, LoRa repeater and LoRa gateway. LoRa MIU is connected to Water Meter via M-Bus interface. A number of LoRa MIUs are connected to LoRa Gateway through LoRa network. LoRa repeater can be used to cover those LoRa MIU which are out of the LoRa gateway coverage area. Data collected by LoRa Gateway can be uploaded to AMR data server via Fixed Line Broadband data network, 4G mobile data network or NBIoT data network. The system uses a proprietary spread spectrum modulation technique. This modulation, in contrast to legacy modulation techniques, permits an increase in link budget and increased immunity to in-band interference. Frequency hopping spread spectrum (FHSS) is typically employed when the duration of a single packet could exceed regulatory requirements relating to the maximum permissible channel dwell time. This is most notably the case in US operation where the 902 to 928 MHz ISM band which makes provision for frequency hopping operation. For details, please download the data sheet.
